He urges leaders and believers alike to protect their hearts, for peace is essential not only in personal life but in the life of the church.

Peace in the Kitchen

Using a clever metaphor from Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant rescue shows, Pastor Bevan highlights that a restaurant can’t function well without peace in the kitchen. Likewise, a church cannot thrive without peace in its leadership. “If there’s no peace in the heart of the leader, there’ll be confusion in the church.”

The Enemy’s Strategy

Bevan teaches that Satan often attacks pastors in three areas:

Their identity

Their message

Their heart

And that’s why Proverbs says, “Above all else, guard your heart.”

Jesus Brings Peace, Not Shame

Reflecting on John 20, Pastor Ray reminds us how Jesus appeared to the disciples after His resurrection—not with judgment or demands for repentance, but with the simple words: “Peace be with you.” These disciples had failed, fled, and doubted—but Jesus came with grace.

“Also Them” Moments

Bevan speaks candidly about the pain of betrayal: how even those we never expected to leave us—sometimes do. Drawing from Paul’s words in 2 Timothy, he talks about the heartbreak of being abandoned by people close to you. But instead of holding onto hurt, Pastor Bevan challenges listeners: “Let them go. Forgive them today.”

The Two Blue Checkmarks

In a humorous but profound illustration, he compares unanswered prayers to WhatsApp messages that are read but not replied to. Just like Mary and Martha expected Jesus to heal Lazarus immediately, sometimes we wonder why He seems silent. But Bevan reminds us: “Jesus doesn’t always show up when it’s difficult—sometimes He waits until it’s impossible.”

Receive the Peace That Makes No Sense

The sermon ends with an invitation to surrender every question and receive the peace that surpasses all understanding. “This peace doesn’t come from performance or perfection—it comes from the finished work of Jesus.”

Watch the complete sermon now on our YouTube channel.
