Called to greatness

Every believer has a deep desire to make an impact. We weren’t created just to exist—we were created to transform the world with the truth of Jesus Christ.

Yet, many of us struggle with doubt, comparison, and feelings of unworthiness. This teaching of pastor Tara McCauley – written from the recording – reminds us that we are called to greatness, not because of what we do, but because of who we belong to.

1. You Are a Crown Witness

The Bible calls us witnesses for Christ. This means we don’t just believe in Jesus—we represent Him on Earth.

Your voice is key in setting people free from sin. When you speak, lives change.

However, if we remain silent, people remain lost. This is why being a Crown Witness is a serious responsibility.

Lesson: Your testimony matters. Don’t underestimate the power of your story.

2. The Enemy’s Plan: To Destroy Your Calling

Pastor Tara McCauley highlights three key areas the devil attacks.

Your Identity

The enemy wants you to feel like a slave, not a child of God. He whispers:

  • You’re not good enough.
  • You need to do more to be loved.
  • You’ll never measure up.

But the truth is:

  • You are not a slave—you are a child of God, deeply loved and fully accepted.
Your Relationships

The enemy tries to isolate us, damage our friendships, and steal our joy. This is why so many pastors and leaders experience burnout, loneliness, or even moral failures.

Your Calling

When we doubt our worth, we start living in comparison, constantly looking at what others are doing instead of staying focused on our own race.

Lesson: Don’t let the enemy convince you that you are anything less than a chosen child of God.

3. Stop Living Like a Slave—You Are a Son/Daughter

Many believers unknowingly live with a slave mindset—constantly trying to prove themselves, earn love, and do more.

But God is not a slave driver—He is a loving Father.

When we know who we are in Christ, we stop striving and start thriving.

Slavery vs. Sonship Mindset:

  • A slave works for love.
  • A child works from love.
  • A slave strives for approval.
  • A child rests in approval.

Lesson: Stop performing for God’s love. You already have it.

4. Run Your Race—Without Looking Around

One of the biggest traps in ministry is comparison. We start looking at other people’s success and wonder:

  • Why is their church growing faster than mine?
  • Why is God blessing them more?
  • What am I doing wrong?

But comparison is a killer. It distracts us, discourages us, and leads to compromise.

Stop looking around. Look up. Fix your eyes on Jesus.

Lesson: Your race is yours alone. Run it faithfully.

5. Finish Strong: Keep Your Eyes on Eternity

At the end of life, God won’t ask:

  • How big was your church?
  • How famous were you?
  • How much money did you make?

Instead, He will ask: Did you stay faithful?

Run your race with endurance. The prize is eternal, and quitting is not an option.

The only finish line that matters is eternity. And our mission is to take as many people with us as possible.

Lesson: Don’t just start strong—finish strong.

Final Thoughts: Keep Your Eyes on Jesus

As believers, we must:

  • Stop striving and start abiding.
  • Stop comparing and start focusing.
  • Stop quitting and start running.

God has already given you everything you need to fulfill your calling. The only question is—will you stay the course?
